On 7 – 8 July, the NATO Summit will take place at the Beştepe Presidential Compound (T.C. Cumhurbaşkanlığı Külliyesi) in Ankara, Türkiye.  The International Media Centre (IMC) is located in the Presidential Nation’s Library (Millet Kütüphanesi).

On 7 July the NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum (NSDIF) will take place at ATO Congresium (Söğütözü Cd. No:1, 06510 Çankaya/Ankara).

The Accreditation Office is located at the Directorate of Communications (DoC) of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye (T.C. Cumhurbaşkanlığı İletişim Başkanlığı - Kızılırmak Mah. Mevlana Bulvarı - No:144, Çankaya / Ankara).

PICKING UP YOUR ACCREDITATION BADGE

You will be granted a media pass only if you received a confirmation from NATO that your application for accreditation has been successful.

You can collect your NATO Summit media pass at the Accreditation Office, located at the Directorate of Communications (DoC) of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. Address: T.C. Cumhurbaşkanlığı İletişim Başkanlığı - Kızılırmak Mah. Mevlana Bulvarı - No:144 Çankaya / Ankara.

To collect your badge, you will need to present the email you received containing a QR code, a valid national identification document (Passport or ID-card) and press card (or accreditation letter from a recognised media organisation). You are asked to provide the same passport/ID card and editor’s letter/press card you used to apply for accreditation.

ACCESS TO THE INTERNATIONAL MEDIA CENTRE

All media representatives must use the press shuttle buses to access the International Media Centre (IMC). The location is not accessible by any city public transport, taxi, car, bike or on foot. The only way to access the IMC is the press shuttle buses. The shuttles will depart from the press hotels, from the Accreditation Office, and from the metro station MTA located in Cukurambar district. The press members who are going to get on the shuttles from the Accreditation Office need to be present at the Accreditation Office before 7 a.m. on 7-8 July as the roads to the Accreditation Office will be closed during the passage of the official motorcades. The press members who are going to get on the shuttles from the Metro Station MTA, can reach out to this point all day by metro.

Please note media will need to go through airport-style security screening which may take longer at peak periods.

Given the security procedures and distances between venues, please plan at least 45 minutes for reaching the IMC.

NATO will distribute these pool cards to each national delegation participating to Summit events (and not to media directly), and it is the delegation’s responsibility to distribute pool cards to media from their country. Please contact your national delegation.

International press agencies and media from countries not participating at the Summit wishing to be considered for a media pool need to contact Summitmediaoperations@hq.nato.int. You will receive a confirmation if your request can be accommodated, and you will be invited to collect your pool card.

By accepting a NATO pool position, you commit to share immediately all information and material collected while in the pool with any accredited media that request it, at no charge and with no restriction on the use of the material for news purposes. Media representatives and news organisations must identify that it is pooled material every time it is used. Pooled material can only be used for legitimate news purposes and it cannot be sold.

SHUTTLE BUSES

Media representatives staying at the media hotels designated under the Summit arrangements will be transported to the Accreditation Office and to the International Media Centre by shuttle services departing from their respective hotels.

For each hotel, an adequate number of shuttle buses will be allocated in accordance with the number of accredited media representatives staying at that hotel. Shuttle departure will be every 20 minutes, supplemented at peak time.

Shuttle buses are planned to provide service throughout the day for members of the press wishing to move between the Summit venue and their hotels.

There will be shuttle buses between the Accreditation Office and IMC. In addition, shuttle buses will provide continuous transportation services between the MTA Metro Station and the IMC.

The shuttle bus schedules are available here. Departure will not be delayed for occupancy; continuous flow will be maintained. In case of excessive demand, passengers will be directed to the next available bus serving the same destination. Shuttle departure intervals are scheduled taking into account the expected peak traffic periods at the International Media Centre and the Accreditation Office.

Routes may be adjusted in accordance with traffic and security condition. In case of any emergency, operations will be sustained through backup shuttle buses.

On 7 July a dedicated shuttle bus will link the International Media Centre and the ATO Congresium. Access to this shuttle bus will only be limited to media having registered their interest to cover NSDIF26 in person.
For more information on shuttle buses please write to: ankarasummit@iletisim.gov.tr
