Publicly disclosed NATO documents

The following list covers the major NATO civil and military bodies with Publicly Disclosed material.  The years represent what is currently available for the public in the NATO Archives Reading Room. For detailed descriptions of these and a full list of all available series, as well as 40.000+ digitized documents, check out NATO Archives Online which currently contains a full collection of IS and IMS documents from 1949-1959. Gradually content is being added, with some series available up to the 1990s.

Note that not all documents from any given year may yet be approved for declassification and public disclosure.  Contact the NATO Archives for any questions or visit requests: nato.archives@hq.nato.int

Series consist of formal documents (in English and in French) issued by the various Committees and Working Groups arranged in the sequential numerical order of the type of paper: "A" for Agenda, "D" for Document, "M" for Memorandum, "N" for Note, "R" for Record, "VR" for Verbatim Record. These series can be accessed in the NATO Archives Reading Room either on CD-ROM, on microfilm or on paper.
