Each member country is represented on the North Atlantic Council by a Permanent Representative, their country’s top diplomat at NATO Headquarters. These senior diplomats are supported by national delegations composed of advisers and officials who also represent their countries on subordinate committees. From time to time, the Council also meets at the level of Heads of State and Government, Ministers of Foreign Affairs or Ministers of Defence.
