Mr. Mirko Ujdenica is a career diplomat at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. As of 1 September 2025 he serves as Charge D'Affaires ad interim of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Croatia to NATO.
Since October 2023, Mr. Ujdenica has held the position of Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO. His previous capacities at the Croatian Delegation to NATO were Head of Political Affairs Section, from September 2020 to April 2022, and Third, Second, and First Secretary during his first posting to NATO from January 2015 to December 2018.
From June 2019 to August 2020 Mr. Ujdenica was posted to the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, where he chaired the Horizontal Working Party on Enhancing Resilience and Countering Hybrid Threats during Croatia’s first EU Presidency.
His first diplomatic posting was in Vienna, from June 2010 until December 2013, where he represented Croatia in various committees of the OSCE, the United Nations, and other International Organizations based in Vienna.
In Zagreb, his most notable Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs assignments included the positions in the Office of the State Secretary for Political Affairs (from 2008 to 2009), Policy Planning Department, and Section for Peacekeeping Operations where he began his diplomatic career in October 2006.
Mr. Ujdenica was born on 24 December 1980 in Zagreb, where he also earned a university degree in History and Cultural Anthropology (from 1999 to 2004). He speaks English and German, is married and has one daughter.
