The Military Committee (MC) is composed of a senior military officer from each NATO member state, serving as their country’s Military Representative (MILREP) to NATO and acting on behalf of their respective Chief of Defence (CHOD). Iceland, which has no armed forces, is represented by a civilian official. The MC convenes regularly to deliberate on issues of military significance, including meeting at the level of the CHODs three times per year.
