The Chair of the NATO Military Committee (CMC), Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, and the NATO Military Representatives of 32 Allied nations visited Kyiv on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

“We are here in full strength, sending a clear message: the bond between NATO and Ukraine is strong and unbreakable,” said Admiral Cavo Dragone after the Military Committee meeting with Ukrainian Defence Staff. “Despite Russia’s unprovoked aggression against Ukraine and its reckless hybrid activities in NATO countries, we stand with Ukraine in the heroic defence of its sovereignty, its territorial integrity and the future of its people”.

The aim of the visit was to discuss Ukraine’s military priorities, lessons learned in new types of warfare, and to help the Alliance be better prepared for any threats. Following a meeting of the Military Committee with the Ukrainian colleagues, in the format of the NATO-Ukraine Council (NUC), the Military Representatives engaged with military commanders and their staffs.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi, CMC and the whole Committee also participated in a meaningful ceremony: “We visited Kyiv, yesterday, to reaffirm unwavering support for Ukraine. While in Kyiv, the 32 Military Representatives and myself did not miss the chance to pay our utmost respect at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen for Ukraine,” said Admiral Cavo Dragone in a post, following the visit.

While in Kyiv, the Military Committee also visited several sites of air defence, drone warfare and unmanned ground systems to witness first-hand the practical implementation of advanced technical skills and knowledge by the Ukrainian defence personnel.
