Сегодня (16 декабря 2020 г.) генерал-лейтенант СВ Италии Никола Занелли вступил в должность заместителя командующего возглавляемой НАТО миссией «Решительная поддержка», в рамках которой проводится учебная подготовка, консультирование и оказывается содействие афганским национальным силам обороны и безопасности. Он сменил на этой должности генерал-лейтенанта СВ Соединенного Королевства Джайлса Хилла.
