В понедельник, 14 февраля 2011 г. заместитель председателя Военного комитета НАТО генерал Уолтер Гаскин выступил перед группой женщин-офицеров из Пакистана, посетившей штаб-квартиру НАТО.
В своем выступлении он рассказал об организованных НАТО мероприятиях, направленных на развитие партнерских отношений с Пакистаном. Кроме этого он подчеркнул необходимость укрепления военного сотрудничества в поддержку общей борьбы с терроризмом. Пакистан является стратегическим партнером миссии НАТО в Афганистане, а пакистанская армия играет важную роль в борьбе с повстанцами вдоль собственной границы. Генерал Гаскин поблагодарил офицеров за их участие и глубокую приверженность и призвал к повышению транспарентности между Пакистаном и НАТО.
