Is Euroatlanticism fashionable? Apparently so. At 61, NATO and its symbol are still inspiring a young generation of talent.
On 7 December, the Ambassador of Ukraine to NATO and the Kingdom of Belgium joined NATO officials to open a fashion exhibition at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
The Institute of World Policy created the collection on the intitiatve of the Director, Mrs Aliona Getmanchuk and the well-known Ukrainian designer, Olena Dats. The collection showed at the Kyiv International Fashion Week in March 2010. The designs aimed to change the negative image of NATO in a country where past stereotypes are still active.
Also on 7 December, the NATO-Ukraine Commission met to assess current relations and discuss the Ukrainian Annual National Plan for contructive cooperation with NATO. After the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleksandr Horin visited the exhibition.
NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division sponsored the exhibition.
