The Euro-Atlantic Romania Council (CEAR) together with Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) held a conference and public debate on Afghanistan on 25-26 February in Iasi, Romania.

The conference “NATO Lessons (learnt) in Afghanistan- Romanian contribution to the stability, security and global peace” comes ahead of the NATO Summit in Bucharest on 2-4 April.

The public debate addressed aspects of the situation in Afghanistan, peace and security in the region, cooperation between NATO and its global partners and the reason for NATO’s mission there, which also includes Romanian troops.

The conference was an opportunity to review the lessons learnt so far by the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
