The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, visited NATO on 2 May, to discuss Azerbaijan’s reform efforts with NATO Ambassadors and the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Alessandro Minuto-Rizzo.

The working session of the North Atlantic Council, NATO’s principal decision-making body, assessed the first cycle of Azerbaijan's Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP).

Allies thanked Azerbaijan for contributions to NATO's operations. Allies also praised Azerbaijan for its ambitious reform goals in the framework of the IPAP and for the progress achieved so far.

They pointed out that more work needs to be done and they are looking forward to continue to support Azerbaijan in its reform efforts.
