The NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson, condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack against the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad earlier today.

The NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson, condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack against the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad earlier today. This attack, coming in the wake of the assassination of a Spanish diplomat in Baghdad last week, is another flagrant attempt by terrorists to destabilise the situation in Iraq and to undermine the international community's efforts to improve security within the country.

The Secretary General has expressed the Alliance's full sympathy and solidarity with Turkey, which has been the victim of this latest suicide attack. He also hopes for the quick and full recovery of the Turkish Embassy staff member and the Iraqi security guards who were injured as a result of the explosion.
