The first ever Partnership for Peace exercise to take place in France started on 14 May and will last until 27 May. "Cooperative Lantern 2000" is a peace support exercise held at brigade-level which aims to train participants in conducting NATO-led operations. Military personnel from 22 different countries will practice working together within two multi-national brigades (MNB). Approximately 600 commanders and staff will take part in this exercise held at the military base of Frjus in the South of France.
