And thanks to the media for being here.
Thank you to the Kingdom of Denmark, the city of Copenhagen, and General Michael Wiggers Hyldgaard, Chief of Defence, for the very, very warm hospitality.
Meeting at the gateway between the Baltic Sea, the North Atlantic, and the High North underlines our 360-degree approach to security: across all flanks and domains, defending our one billion citizens.
Russia’s reckless behaviour over the last weeks and months — including airspace violations, drone incidents, and hybrid activities — continues to test Allied resolve.
Its growing investment in cognitive warfare aims to undermine trust and weaken our unity. We cannot ignore this. This threat is real.
But let me be clear: these attempts are not dividing us. They are sharpening our tools, making us more united and determined.
I also commend Allied forces for their swift, effective responses, proving that NATO remains ready to defend every inch of Allied territory.
These threats underline why our deterrence and defence must remain credible, antifragile, and fully resourced, alongside our unwavering support to Ukraine. Allies continue to provide equipment, training, and assistance while learning vital lessons from Ukraine’s heroic defence.
This Conference reviewed progress following the Ankara Summit, which demonstrated how Allies are translating commitments into military reality.
Investment must deliver ready forces, fielded capabilities, and executable plans. This is what a stronger, fairer NATO 3.0 is about – a stronger Europe in a stronger NATO.
Together, we focused on the following priorities:
Delivering Summit decisions and capability targets, from air and missile defence to drones, cyber, and space.
Accelerating readiness and multi-domain operations, ensuring our forces can move, sustain, and fight at speed and scale.
A direct message to the defence industry: Allies are ready to buy at scale. Investment is rising, demand is clear, and industry must be able to deliver.
Protecting critical infrastructure, from undersea cables and energy networks to digital systems. Resilience is central to deterrence and defence and requires civil society’s full engagement.
Our discussions were frank, focused, and united: NATO is delivering.
Following this press conference, Chiefs of Defence will elect the next Chair of the NATO Military Committee, ensuring leadership continuity of NATO’s highest Military Authority.
