Climate change is a threat that none of us can ignore.
It is a crisis multiplier.
From the Sahel region of Africa, where a harsh climate drives extremism and migration.
To the Arctic, where melting ice-caps are driving geopolitical competition.
Climate change makes our world more dangerous.
So it is at the core of NATO’s agenda.

A changing climate affects us all.
So we must all be part of the solution.
Nations and international organisations.
The COP26 conference is multilateralism in action.

NATO is playing its part in dealing with the security impact of climate change.
For the first time, we are developing a methodology to map military emissions across the Alliance.
So we can cut them.
Our militaries are also investing in sustainable solutions.
Including biofuels for jet aircraft.
And solar panels to power camps and equipment.

NATO is determined to reduce the impact of climate on our militaries.
And to reduce the impact of our militaries on the climate.
Together we can countdown to Net Zero.
