So Secretary Pompeo, once again welcome, it’s good to see you here. And we met recently in Washington and it’s great to welcome you to NATO Headquarters once again.
And we are going to have an important Foreign Ministerial meeting, where we are going to address the progress we are making on burden sharing. European Allies and Canada have added $100 billion extra for defence spending but we need to keep up the momentum and do even more.
And then we’ll also address strategic issues like Russia, arms control but also the implications of the rise of China. And NATO remains the only platform where North America sit together, meet together and make decisions together on issues of great importance for our shared security.
Once again, welcome and thank you so much for your strong personal commitment to this Alliance, for your leadership, and for the way you help us to move this Alliance forward. So it’s great to see you again.
