On behalf of NATO Allies, I strongly condemn today's bombing in Kandahar province in Afghanistan, which killed dozens of innocent people and injured many others.

This atrocity demonstrates once again the appalling character of those who oppose peace and stability in Afghanistan. I would like to express my condolences to the families of the victims and let them know that our thoughts are with them.

Let it be clear that our resolve to continue assisting Afghanistan on its way to long-lasting peace and security will not be diminished.
