On behalf of the Alliance, I would like to thank Harri Holkeri for his efforts as Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Kosovo. During his tenure, he demonstrated his strong dedication to peace, stability and ethnic reconciliation in Kosovo. He played an instrumental role in launching the "Standards for Kosovo" process, and the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade began with his encouragement and guidance. NATO thanks him for his service to the international community, and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
The Alliance will continue to work closely with UNMIK, and Mr. Holkeri's successor, as part of NATO's ongoing dedication to helping to build self-sustaining peace and stability in Kosovo and throughout the region.
