In line with the commitment to ensure lasting peace, stability and prosperity in South East Europe, as part of a wider Euro-Atlantic security area, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hereby declares the endorsement by the Republic of Moldova of the South East Europe Common Assessment Paper on Regional Security Challenges and Opportunities (SEECAP), adopted by the countries of the region on 30 May 2001.

We see our membership of the Stability Pact for South East Europe and involvement in NATO's South East Europe Initiative (SEEI), as key opportunities to contribute to and develop, practical regional cooperation-We also share the perception of the countries in our region, on how the common challenges and opportunities set out in the SEECAP, can guide our efforts towards this goal.

The SEECAP has already demonstrated its potential by promoting political cooperation and transparency, increased cooperation in defence and security sector reform, economic and democratic development and environmental protection- The Republic of Moldova considers the provisions of the SEECAP, an excellent framework for further fostering dialogue and consolidating good neighborly relations throughout South East Europe, with the aim of enhancing regional stability and security.
