I have been informed by the Supreme Allied Commander, Europe that all FRY military and police forces (VJ/MUP) have now departed Kosovo in compliance with the Military Technical Agreement (MTA) signed by the Commander of KFOR and representatives of the FRY Government on 9th June 1999.
Acting under the authority granted to me by the North Atlantic Council, I have accordingly decided to terminate with immediate effect the air campaign, which I suspended on 10th June 1999.
In making this statement I wish once more to express my thanks to all those who have contributed to Operation Allied Force and to underline the need for all parties to comply fully with the MTA and UNSCR 1244. KFOR will continue to work towards the establishment of a secure environment for all the people of Kosovo, regardless of ethnic origin.
