From 22 to 24 September 2026, the NATO Secretary General, Mr Mark Rutte, will visit Iowa and New York, United States of America.

On Tuesday, 22 September, the NATO Secretary General will meet with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and participate in an event hosted by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs where he will give a speech followed by a moderated discussion. While in Iowa, Mr Rutte will also visit the Iowa National Guard Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ).

From Wednesday, 23 September, the NATO Secretary General will travel to New York on the occasion of the 81th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Mr Rutte will also meet with world leaders and high-level officials while in New York.

On Thursday, 24 September, the NATO Secretary General will deliver a speech at a commemorative event hosted by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
