The Crisis Management Exercise 2025 (CMX25) will take place between 13 and 18 March 2025. This is the Alliance’s 24th CMX since 1992.
As in previous iterations, CMX25 will rehearse and test the Alliance’s consultation and decision-making procedures in line with the Strategic Concept and in support of its three core tasks at the strategic political-military level. It will involve civilian and military staffs in Allied capitals, at NATO Headquarters and in both Strategic Commands. As with previous CMX exercises, CMX25 involves no deployed forces.
The exercise will include practising comprehensive responses to a complex civil-military scenario, set in a hybrid environment.
CMX25 will also include staff-to-staff exchanges with the European External Action Service, the European Commission, and the Council of the European Union.
There will be no media opportunities during CMX25.
