A tribute will be paid on Monday, 11 September 2006 to all victims of terrorist attacks at a commemorative ceremony which will take place at NATO Headquarters.

Staff members of NATO Delegations, the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council missions, Mediterranean Dialogue countries, ICI countries, as well as the International Staff and the International Military Staff will attend the ceremony.

Coverage and programme

Media coverage is strictly limited to the ceremony.

14:00  NATO Site Entrance is closed.  Media representatives who wish to cover the commemorative ceremony will not be admitted onto the site after 14:00 hrs.
14:20 Start of the Ceremony                 
  • Remarks by the Secretary General of NATO, Mr. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer;
  • At the Secretary General’s signal, the bugler plays taps while the NATO flag and national flags are lowered to half mast by representatives of national armed forces in dress uniform;
  • One minute of silence is observed throughout NATO Headquarters;
  • At the Secretary General’s signal bugler plays Reveille while NATO and national flags are raised simultaneously.

Accreditation

Media representatives will be accredited at the NATO Site entrance on presentation of a valid press card.

Parking

Media representatives will be allowed to park their vehicle on the “East” Parking lot, just outside the NATO Site entrance.
