On 15 December 2025, NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska attended the European Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council.
The Deputy Secretary General emphasised the importance of a strong and resilient energy sector for Europe’s security, calling for synergy between defence and energy policies. She welcomed the EU’s recent efforts to stop Russian gas imports and phase out Russian oil. Ms. Shekerinska also reiterated the need to learn from Ukraine in protecting critical energy infrastructure.
