On 22 July 2025, the North Atlantic Council approved a new Procurement Policy for NATO Common Funding. The new policy will apply to all procurements of common-funded goods, works, and services across the Alliance.

In a changing security environment, this policy empowers Allies and NATO bodies to meet today’s challenges by procuring faster and procuring more. The new rules make available a wide range of procurement approaches, enabling NATO to become more effective and responsive when using NATO common funding. In line with the goals set in The Hague Summit Declaration of 25 June 2025, the policy supports agile procurement and the use of industry available solutions, particularly in evolving technology and service. This allows tailormade procurement solutions to each procurement need.

Through the new policy, NATO common-funded procurements balance speed and flexibility with transparency and fairness. The policy is supplemented by a new Procedure for NATO Competitive Procurement, both in force as of 22 July 2025.
