On Wednesday 23 October 2024, the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN) met at NATO Headquarters a delegation from the Board of External Auditors of the Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation (OCCAr BoA).

The delegation from the OCCAr BoA included 14 representatives from the Supreme Audit Institutions of Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. IBAN Chair, Radek Visinger, and Board Members Major General Iordanis Chatzigiannakis, Sébastien Lepers, Carlo Mancinelli and Franz Wascotte, who was Chair of the OCCAr BoA between 2004 and 2018, welcomed the delegation to NATO HQ, along with IBAN Middle Managers David Black and Patrick Alix.

Hilde François, First President of the Belgian Court of Audit, who had previously hosted the annual strategic planning meeting of the OCCAr BoA, did the honour of her presence during this fruitful moment between both International Boards of Auditors.

Radek Visinger and Marinella Rucireta, OCCAr BoA Chair, presented the structure, mission and responsibilities of their respective external audit body. This was followed by an exchange on practices and procedures among participants, creating a valuable opportunity to discuss key audit topics such as transparency, accountability and governance.
