The Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, sends message of solidarity and support to the military personnel and people of Ukraine on their Independence Day.

Admiral Bauer commended the Ukrainian Military Leadership, "I honour the relentless courage and determination shown by the Ukrainian military leadership. Together, you have set the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian people on the path to victory. You have transformed modern warfare. Under unimaginable pressure. Under unimaginable circumstances", adding that "This is the second Independence Day that Ukraine celebrates during wartime. If it weren’t for you… that would not have been possible. There will be many, many more independence days that Ukraine will celebrate in peace."

He also recognized the undeniable courage, dedication and strength of the Ukrainian troops. “Every day, you, the Ukrainian Armed Forces defeat the odds and inspire men and women in uniform all over the world. Sacrificing everything you have, to protect who you are and what you believe in: Freedom. Democracy. And the right of your nation to choose its own path. We will help you. Every step of the way.”
