NATO Deputy Secretary General's message to the Ukrainian people on their Independence Day

NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mircea Geoană, today (24 August 2023) sent a recorded message of solidarity and support to the people of Ukraine on their Independence Day.
Mr Geoana said, “Today is a proud day for all Ukrainians, a celebration of your independence from the Soviet Union. I very much look forward to the time when it is also a celebration of your victory over Russian aggression, and a celebration of your continued freedom. On your Independence Day, I wish you all strength and success going forward. Slava Ukraini!”
