Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană welcomed the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, to NATO Headquarters on Tuesday (4 July 2023).

Mr Geoană welcomed the deepening partnership between NATO and Moldova, with full respect for its constitutional neutrality, saying that the Alliance would continue supporting Moldova in areas like resilience, defence and security institution building, combatting disinformation, and cyber defence. He further welcomed the strengthened political dialogue between NATO and Moldova, and said he looked forward to welcoming Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu to the NATO Summit in Vilnius next week. The Deputy Secretary General also underscored NATO Allies’ strong support for Moldova’s European integration, calling this “key to a bright and prosperous future”.
