Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg praised Albania for its contributions to NATO in a meeting with President Bajram Begaj at NATO Headquarters on Tuesday (7 March 2023).

The Secretary General thanked Albania for playing a key role in promoting stability and cooperation across the Western Balkans, a region of strategic importance to NATO. Mr Stoltenberg also welcomed Albania’s contributions to NATO deployments, including in Latvia, Bulgaria, Kosovo, and Iraq, and Albania’s pledges of aid for Ukraine.
