Во вторник (28 февраля 2023 г.) Генеральный секретарь НАТО Йенс Столтенберг посетил Хельсинки для встреч с высокопоставленными должностными лицами и для участия в саммите Комитета по сотрудничеству Рабочего движения стран Северной Европы (SAMAK). Выступая вместе с премьер-министром Санной Марин, г-н Столтенберг высоко оценил «решительную поддержку, которую Финляндия оказывает Украине» в этот критический момент агрессивной войны России. Что касается членства в НАТО, он сказал, что «настало время ратифицировать и полностью приветствовать как Финляндию, так и Швецию в качестве членов» Североатлантического союза.
