Міністри оборони із 14 країн – членів НАТО * і Фінляндії зібрались разом в Брюсселі у четвер, 13 жовтня 2022 року, для підписання Листа про наміри щодо розвитку «Ініціативи європейського небесного щита». Ця ініціатива, яку просуває Німеччина, спрямована на створення європейської системи протиповітряної і протиракетної оборони за допомогою спільного придбання обладнання для ППО і ракет європейськими країнами. Це зміцнить Інтегровану систему протиповітряної і протиракетної оборони НАТО.
