On 7 December 2021, a change of command ceremony from Brigadier General Eric Folkestad (US Army) to Brigadier General Pamela McGaha (US Army) at the helm of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo took place in Sarajevo, at the Army Hall of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event featured the participation by the Commander of the Allied Joint Force Command in Naples, Admiral Robert P. Burke, civilian and military officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina and representatives of the diplomatic community.

Admiral Burke welcomed Brigadier General McGaha and thanked Brigadier General Folkestad for his outstanding contribution to the mission. “For 17 years, this headquarters has sought to help the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina create a better future, as NATO stands as steadfast partner with this proud nation until the job is done,” he said.
