The Italian Joint Operations School in Guidonia has recently held the first edition of the Joint Fires Course for military personnel of Allied and partner countries. The course lasted from 22 to 26 November and featured the participation by twenty people.

It provided a valuable platform to test procedures and command and control systems on the new military technologies used for space operations, electronic warfare, intelligence surveillance target acquisition and reconnaissance, close air support, logistic projection, joint targeting, and land operations integration, as well as other tasks of joint operations. Brigadier General Glauco Luigi Mora, Commander of the School said: "The aim of the course is to provide the necessary skills and updating the staff in the field of joint fires functional areas, in national and international operations and in the context of NATO Commands to perform tasks of planning, coordination and execution of joint fire support through lethal and non-lethal engagements."
