On 11-12 October 2021, in the framework of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP), the Legal Entity of Public Law (LEPL) Cyber Security Bureau and the Georgian Ministry of Defence hosted the second “Intermarium Cyber Security Forum 2021”.

The forum brought together representatives of nine NATO member countries and one partner country. During the two-day event, they discussed strengthening cybersecurity related issues, deepening international cooperation within cyber security, and increasing effective ways to react to hybrid threats.

“The hard truth is there's no single organization—governments, corporations, NGOs, academic institutions—that has the solution to this [cyber security] problem. Cyber security demands a collective response and all these groups need to work together proactively,” - highlighted Colonel Jaak Tarien, Director of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Center of Excellence, who served as a Key Note Speaker for the conference.

The opening remarks were delivered by Georgian Minister of Defence, Mr. Juansher Burchuladze. He stressed the importance of cooperation with the international partners and underlined that the development of cyber security is one of the important priorities for the Ministry of Defence of Georgia. The participants were also addressed by the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package (SNGP) Core Team Leader, Colonel Norbert Hess, NATO Cyber Defence Improvement Center, Colonel James Tarienma and Director of the Cyber Security Bureau, Luka Mgeladze.
