Coronavirus response: NATO and Hungary deliver ventilators to Ukraine

Ukraine has received ten ventilators from NATO’s Pandemic Response Stockpile to help the country respond to coronavirus infections. The NATO Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre and Hungary coordinated the donation in response to a request by Ukraine for COVID-19 assistance.
The medical equipment was donated by Hungary to the NATO stockpile and handed over by Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, to Roman Rodyna, General Director of the State Institute Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on 22 July. The NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine supported the coordination.
Health facilities in several Ukrainian Oblasts, including Donets'ka, Zaporiz'ka, MykolayIvs'ka, Kharkivs'ka, Khersons'ka, Cherkas'ka and Chernivets'ka will benefit from the donation. The recent delivery is part of the overall assistance Allies are providing to Ukraine to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this year, Ukraine received over 9,000 litres of disinfectant from NATO.
In 2020, NATO established a Pandemic Response Trust Fund that maintains a stockpile of medical equipment and supplies to be able to provide immediate relief to Allies or partners in need.
