Coronavirus Response: NATO supports Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 8 July, Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted a ceremony for the handover of medical equipment received from NATO’s Pandemic Response Trust Fund. The donation included more than 500 sensor thermometers for body temperature, IsoArk N36-2 negative pressure chambers, and portable X-ray machines.
The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center (EADRCC) in close cooperation with NATO Headquarters Sarajevo. The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) supported the procurement and transportation of the medical equipment.
Numerous military and civilian institutions around the country will benefit from the donation. The negative pressure chambers will be distributed to the Armed Forces, the portable X-ray machines to Kantonalna bolnica Zenica (Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), JZU Zdravstveni centar Brcko (Brcko District), and Dom Zdravlja Cajnice (Republika Srpska), and the sensor thermometers to several military and civilian heath facilities.
This support is part of the overall assistance Allies have agreed to provide Bosnia and Herzegovina to address the severe effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year, Bosnia and Herzegovina received 15,000 FFP2 masks, 14,100 FFP3 masks, 20,000 protective gloves, 1,000 antigen tests, and 20,000 sets of protective clothing from the NATO Pandemic Response Stockpile. The NATO Pandemic Response Trust Fund maintains a stockpile of medical equipment and supplies in order to provide immediate relief to Allies or partners in need.
