Just days after the NATO Summit in Brussels, NATO’s Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Mircea Geoană, will participate alongside other NATO officials in the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) from 16 to 17 June for “NITEC Connect”.

This year's edition of the Agency's flagship conference will focus on enhancing NATO's resilience through stronger partnerships with industry. “This is an important event not only for the Agency and its partners, but also for NATO as an Alliance. Strengthening our partnerships with the private sector and with academia are vital for our defence and security – now, more than ever” said Mr. Mircea Geoană in his keynote address. 

Participants will engage with keynote speakers on a wide range of topics: from big data and artificial intelligence, through space technologies. “Our cooperation and collaboration with industry and academia are almost as old as the Alliance itself. But we need to deepen and expand these partnerships” said the Deputy Secretary General, adding that ‘decisions taken by NATO leaders earlier this week – decisions that have set our direction of travel for the next decade – depend on it.”

The NCI Agency, NATO’s technology and cyber leader, plays an important role in acquiring, deploying and defending communications systems for NATO's political headquarters and military commands.  As a part of 2021 NITEC Connect, the NCI Agency will also be hosting a Space Pitch Day on 17 June, in partnership with the NATO Space Centre located in Allied Air Command.
