The strong transatlantic bond in NATO remains the cornerstone of Europe’s security, and closer cooperation with the European Union is an important part of our work for the future, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in his address to the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee and Sub-Committee on Security and Defence on Monday (15 March 2021).
“We have a lot in common. And in a more competitive world, we can achieve more together than alone”, the Secretary General underlined.
He called for stepped-up cooperation between the two organisations in key areas, including military mobility, championing new technologies, bolstering resilience, fighting climate change and protecting the rules-based order.
