Speaking at the Bucharest Forum today (8 October 2020), NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana emphasised the vital importance of resilience and of the NATO Alliance as our nations defend our values against a broad range of security challenges.
In light of a wide range of security challenges, the Deputy Secretary General said, “We need to place a far greater emphasis on resilience in the years ahead.” He went on to say, “the challenges our free societies in the political West face now are greater than any in living memory. That is why our values are so important, why our unity is so important, and why our NATO Alliance is so important.”
This year’s forum was organised by the Aspen Institute Romania and the GMF, and was held online.
