In a face-to-face meeting on Wednesday (23 September), Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Executive Vice President of the European Commission Margrethe Vestager stressed the importance of NATO-EU cooperation in addressing security challenges emerging from new technologies such as data, artificial intelligence and next generation networks.

The Secretary General said that the COVID-19 pandemic has made NATO-EU partnership more relevant than ever, so enhancing resilience, including in the digital realm, is a priority for both NATO and the EU. 

Ms. Vestager also joined the North Atlantic Council for further discussions on emerging technological challenges.
