Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee and General Valeriy Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and First Deputy Minister of Defence, spoke via telephone today, 2nd July 2020.

The phone call demonstrates NATO interest in maintaining military lines of communication, predictability and the exchange of information on issues of concern including COVID-19. This is in line with NATO’s policy of transparency and ongoing dialogue between senior NATO and Russian leadership.
