Slovenia facilitated this month the start of COVID-19 preventive testing of EUFOR personnel at Camp Butmir in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in line with efforts to protect military and civilian personnel in international operations.
Tests began on 8 April 2020 with a visit from a team of medical specialists from Slovenia, providing additional support to preventative measures against COVID-19 employed at the EUFOR base. Members of the Military Medical Unit of the Slovenian Armed Forces collected more than 100 swabs among military and civilian members of EUFOR personnel working at the base, to be examined at the Microbiology Institute in Slovenia.
On 16 April, Slovenia delivered tents, field beds, sleeping bags, electric heaters, blankets and other items to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
