Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg had a series of calls with foreign ministers from NATO and partner countries on 24-26 March 2020 as part of his regular political consultations.

Mr. Stoltenberg also spoke with European Union High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell.

They discussed the COVID-19 pandemic and the measures being taken to stop the spread of the virus and mitigate its effects.  Mr. Stoltenberg stressed that the pandemic is a test for everyone, and that NATO Allies stand in solidarity and continue to work together in responding to the crisis.

Mr. Stoltenberg also updated ministers on plans for the meeting via secure teleconference of NATO Foreign Ministers on 2 April.
