NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday (9 March 2020) in Brussels.

The two leaders discussed the serious security situation in Syria.  The Secretary General underlined that NATO will continue to support Turkey with a range of measures to help protect Turkey against threats from Syria.

The Secretary General and President Erdoğan also addressed the impact of the refugee and migrant movements on the Turkish-Greek border. “The issue of migration and refugee flows is a common challenge that requires common solutions,” said the Secretary General.
