NATO, together with other international organizations, is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and all NATO Allies continue to take preventative measures.

We welcome the leading efforts of the World Health Organization to raise awareness and provide guidance to countries and individuals.

NATO military medical staff remain vigilant. They are monitoring any potential impact for NATO troops deployed on operations.

A number of staff, contractors, and members of national delegations working at the HQ have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Prior to the first positive test, NATO had already taken preventative measures at our headquarters to reduce the risk of the further spread of infection. These include the temporary suspension of certain staff travel, encouraging staff to work from home, and the temporary suspension of group visits to NATO HQ in Brussels.

We remain in close contact with the Belgian authorities.

NATO has robust business continuity measures and plans in place, ensuring that our essential work continues.
