Description
The aim of the Network Security Course offered by the Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey, United States of America) is to understand the bits-in transit aspect of information/cyber security. The ten-week course will be based on lectures, classroom and online discussions, videos, online labs, quizzes, and assignments. Students will learn to describe the patterns and protocols of “normal” network traffic; identify cues that indicate malicious/attack traffic; demonstrate the rudiments of firewall deployment and rule-writing, and the proper application of cryptographic mechanisms to achieve INFOSEC objectives of confidentiality and integrity; and various ways to perform e-authentication.
