On 15 and 16 October 2019, a high-level delegation of Moroccan diplomats visited NATO Headquarters as part of a long-standing cooperation between NATO and Morocco in the field of public diplomacy.

The visit was organized by NATO’ Political Affairs and Security Policy Division.  It featured briefings and exchange of views with senior NATO officials on a number of themes, including the different strands of NATO cooperation with countries in the Mediterranean Dialogue and specific areas of cooperation between NATO and Morocco, including on strengthening the level of interoperability between NATO and Morocco, defence education, and arms control with a specific focus on small arms and light weapons.

The delegation also met with the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security, Ms Clare Hutchinson. The discussion included an exchange of views on Moroccan and NATO best practices in that field.
