Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed President Salomé Zourabichvili to NATO on Wednesday (23 January 2019) for talks on the Alliance’s deepening partnership with Georgia. The Secretary General thanked President Zourabichvili for Georgia’s contributions to NATO’s training mission in Afghanistan and to the NATO Response Force, and for hosting an upcoming joint exercise in March. Calling Georgia “a unique partner”, Mr. Stoltenberg welcomed the country’s progress on reform, and pledged NATO’s support as Georgia continues to prepare for membership in the Alliance.
