On 14 September 2018, the NATO Political Affairs and Security Policy Division organised a meeting at NATO Headquarters with an inter-ministerial delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain to discuss the development of an Individual Partnership and Cooperation Programme (IPCP) between NATO and Bahrain. The Bahraini delegation was headed by the Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

During the meeting, they discussed the areas of cooperation relevant to the Kingdom of Bahrain with senior officials from the International Staff and International Military Staff from NATO.

In the margins of the talks between the NATO and Bahraini delegations, the Undersecretary for International Affairs of Bahrain Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller.
